While the amenities are similar, the biggest difference is the personal relationship and human connection. With Amex FHR, you will always be getting a call center, with a person on the other side who doesn't really know you as a person or your preferences. The relationship-building aspect of the experience is lost. On the other hand, we will know your preferences, and anticipate your needs to curate a one-of-a-kind experience to your exact desires, without you having to lift a finger or constantly remind us of what you're looking for. We know what you want and will work hard behind the scenes to make sure everything is executed perfectly. The meticulous attention to detail and the personal knowledge of you and your likes/dislikes are what will set the experience apart from any other way of booking travel.
Travel Design Fees
As with most travel planners within the industry or any business that provides a service, we do charge travel design fees. We work on a consultative basis to design luxurious trips that are tailored to each individual client’s unique tastes, preferences, and travel goals. The process of researching and putting together a customized proposal that matches your travel goals takes time. On average, we spend anywhere from 10 - 30+ hours working on a trip from initial consultation through the conclusion of your trip. Our travel design fee covers our initial consultation and the time spent researching, developing, and revising a custom itinerary, booking and managing the components, and support while traveling. Please note - because of this, these fees are non-refundable and will be charged regardless of whether a trip is booked. If your trip is canceled for any reason, we understand, and we are happy to apply your fee towards a future trip with us booked within 24 months. More information on our fees can be found here.
Bookings / Reservations
Commissions paid by hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, etc. Our commission comes from our partners directly on the backend. You are not paying anything extra on the front end to work with us.
We work with all sorts of clients (individuals, couples, families, groups, etc.). Our ideal clients focus on value rather than cost. We will work with any budget, but where we provide tremendous value and expertise is with high-end hotels and resorts, creating complex itineraries, and rare access experiences and special requests.
Yes! We charge a ticketing fee of $30 for domestic and $50 for international which allows us to monitor the flights booked for any changes, delays, or cancellations. Should any challenges arise, we will advocate on your behalf and proactively book you on the next available flight or reroute you to try to minimize any disruptions to your trip.
Please note: We do not assist in booking flights using points or miles.
